Time for a new battery

Hey folks looking for some suggestions on a replacement for my 2004 996. I'm a street user so need a good reserve, so race batteries are out. I'm thinking of getting the big factory or a red top optima. Thoughts?
Thanks

PepBoys sell a Bosch replacement. I would just buy the one with the longest warranty and the most store locations.

i found the best deal at walmart. it had decent CCA and Reserve power ratings. it also fit right into the stock location without issue. you can stand into the front trunk to lift the battery out. make sure you connect the vent tube to avoid battery fume built up that result in explosion. also, make sure you have the radio code before you disconnect.

another suggestion would be die hard gold series. it's about 2x as much. not really worth it though but it's full replacement value on the battery within 3 years.

You could consider getting a battery tender if there are times when you don't drive it much to prolong battery life. Might not be an issue if this is the first new battery for your '04, then that would be exceptionally long life for the OEM battery.

Interstate battery + Porsche tender

I went with an Interstate battery and hook it up to a battery tender as I am interested to see if maintaining the battery indeed makes it last longer.... I will get back to you in about 4 years :-)hilarious

All car batteries are made by the same one or two companies, then rebranded. As someone said previously, look for best price and warranty. My .02.

I personally use Sears.

If there is an Autozone near you, they have the Group 48 Duralast battery for $105 with core exchange. More expensive than the Costco battery, but none of my local Costco's carried the size.

I've had the new battery in my 996 C4S for about 5 months with no issue.

As the previous poster mentioned, straight-forward install - just write down the radio code.
