Yellow or Red Calipers Paint Job

Does anyone know a good place to get the brake calipers painted in the Los Angeles Area. I am looking to get either red or yellow painted with the Porsche Logo.

Ill have the calipers removed. Any idea on cost and how long the paint lasts without chipping or cracking?

TIA

Make sure to find a place that strips the original finish to prep the calipers. Also, I think they come out better if the Porsche lettering is painted on with a stencil rather than applied as a decal or sticker.

Most people just do their own. I rarely do DIY projects on my Porsches but if I was going to change the color of my calipers that would be one I would do myself. Otherwise, any body/paint shop would do fine.

I agree w/ denver steve... this is a DIY...

I'd do it at fluid flush time... and maybe swap in SS brake lines at the same time...

I'd go red w/ decals you can buy on eBay...

I bet you'd pay $600+ if you take the car to a body shop and they have to remove the calipers, prep, paint and bleed the brakes...

As a DIY it'll probably cost you 6 hours and $50..

I don't think you need to remove the brakes completely. You can leave the lines intact and hang the calipers with a metal close hanger and spray them. Obviously cover the area for over spray. I've used caliper paint before and it lasted for a couple years. Looked perfect till the day I sold the car.

JoelPirela,

Just finished reading your thread. Amazing job, cant wait to do it myself! Quick question, what happens when you replace the rotors and pads. Does it affect the paint? Chips?

Thanks.

Wheel Dynamics. They did mine years ago and my calipers still looks good. No relation to WD btw, they are not sponsors here so look them up...

The finish is quite durable. I did the same process to my 996 and after 4 years, the calipers looked like new... but if you drop a wheel or hit it with a wrench, it will scratch, as it would a factory caliper. Good luck!

This is the car after 4 years:
