The "I can't believe I am asking an oil question" question

Hey guys,

In all my years working on all the toys I have, I have never asked an oil related question. But here comes.

I run Motul 300V Factory Line 5W-40 on all my track/race motorcycles. Due to a membership with my trackday organization, I get the 300V for $4 per quart, and have untold quarts stocked up. Due to injuries, my racing has been put on hold for a while.

So, I am wondering... can anyone tell me if it's OK to run the 300V on a 2003 996? Intuitively, if an oil performs great in a 12,000 RPM superbike that is being caned all day, it should be OK in a daily driver car that never sees the race/track. But I know there is way more science than intuition, so looking for some thoughts.

No. Using it in a DD it won't last. Use Motul 8100 X-Cess 5w40

I would like to hear more about the reasoning. I know many people in our car gathering club (Ferraris, BMW's, Porsches...) who use Motul 300V and love it. Many have used it for years. I'm not debating whether Porsche approves of its use or not simply why it wouldn't be a fine choice for someone who wants to deviate from Mobile1.

I deviated from Mobil 1 a long time ago. I typically use Schaeffer Supreme 9000.
