Bentley 996 Service Manual

Forum Folks,

As noted in an earlier thread, I just purchased a 1999, 996 Cabriolet. Now I need to know how to keep it running and performing it's best. Do any of you have the 'Porsche 911 Carrera (Type 996) Service Manual (1999-2005)' by Bentley Publishing and are willing to part with it? Or, is Amazon the best way to go? Are there any other 996 publications worth buying?

After you get the Bentley you may want the 996 The Essential Companion by Adrian Streather

I have both the Bentley Manual and the factory workshop manual, but the instructions and/or video's you'll find on the forums (Pelican, renntech, rennlist, 6speed, etc.) are as good or better for most of the maintenance or upgrade tasks you'll likely be doing. On the 996, just about every task a typical owner might tackle has been pretty well documented.

The factory service manual is still a good reference to have, even if you don't use it often.. Google 'porsche 996 workshop manual' you'll find the factory service manual online for downloading... Bentley manual is fine as well, but pricey.
