Water getting in through firewall

1 Attachment(s)
Hi,
I have totally stripped out the interior as the carpets were soaked, After unblocking the rear and front drains I thought that it would be ok, The rear is bone dry now however water is coming in through the area in the photo. There is very little water in the front under the bonnet as the drain is clear yet after 1 day of light rain I have a small puddle in the drivers footwell and its dripping in through here which is just above the accelerator pedal. Want to put her back together but need to figure out how to stop this, Any ideas?
Thanks

Did you clear both front drains? If so there must be a hole somewhere, check on the other side of where it's entering.

Hi,
Yes both drains clear, Looks like a rubber seal on the outer side of this plate thing, May be perished but looks a nightmare to replace. Also the design is poor, Although there are drain holes there is a recess where water will always be and I think it must be seeping in at tis point through the seal

What you could try is to seal it with some silicone seal. They make one that is used in the marine industry so it can be used underwater to repair holes. I mention that one because with regular silicone seal you need a totally dry surface, this one you don't.

Here's one....This is what I've used in other applications. Be sure to seal inside and out if possible.

Hope this helps

There are 4 drains in the front. They can be hard to find. On my car the rubber grommets fell through and had to be fished back out.

Renn tech has some good write ups of the locations.

Hi,
got some of said sealant and sealed both in and out and all is good.
Thanks again
