Hey guys, I haven't seen anything like it, everything looks good in the wheel well, but I haven't stripped off the inner liner yet.

Anyways, here is the problem, and it's been getting worse. Whenever I open my passenger door a whole lot of moist black "beads" splash out and are all over the place (see pictures). I don't even know what to think, have you guys seen anything like this?

I ran them under the sink, there are not metal, they dissolve (slowly) and are as hard as asphalt.... The thing that is weird is they are all pretty much identical...

See the pictures..

I had a similar issue with material that continued to fall out of the bottom of the glove compartment onto the floor of our Lexus 570 SUV. It ended up being fish food for one of our ponds on the property that was being stored in the garage. It was carried into the vent system by mice and collected at the bottom of the glove compartment. Don't know if this is relevant but it certainly was a weird situation. Good luck!

Looks like rodent activity to me too. I agree that you should take the door panel off and have a look inside.

Check out this product: www.rataway.com . This concentrate spray worked like a champ when the rodents were building nests in my wife's CL55. Just a little goes a long way.

No affiliation, just a happy customer.

Just a guess, charcoal from the cabin filter?

See if your dog will eat it. That'll confirm if it is (LOL)!

Have to agree, looks like rodent droppings.

pmkazz Mar 16, 2014 12:20 PM

Rat droppings, yep..

There should be corresponding dried urine and stench.
We have had a rat infestation in our crawl space. Buggers chewed through the drywall into the garage and proceeded to eat HVAC insulation. Stench was awful and what's left of the insulation still smells. It will be removed and replaced because rat smell is like a beacon to roger rats (as well as being gross.)
Most annoying was that the wired internet connection behind the tv in my living room has stopped working because the blighters chewed through the cable in the crawl space.

Looks like charcoal from the EVAP (charcoal) canister located in the passenger side wheel well next to your door!
