997 rear regulator in 996?

Hi guys,

I'm on mobile here so no pics yet. My rear passenger window regulator went out (cab), and the replacement unit is 600-800!! I know the 997 and 996 share the same roofline as well as convertible top, that being said, do you think with some flight modifications, the 997 rear window regulator would work?

I know the panels are different, but the shape of extension (?) lol, should be the same seeing as the roofline matches. They look almost identical with few minor differences. The prices for a 997 are in the $250 range.
Has anybody heard of this swap before i venture and do it?

Thanks,

i did mine a couple of months ago and looked at the 997 unit . It is not the same and i think the electrical connector is different . I got a replacement from a breaker on ebay for 200 . no problems at all with it and i believe there is a company that will rebuild your existing one as well . it is a sucky job so be patient doing the work .

I had mine replaced a few months ago. I looked at the DIY,but there were too many parts to remove for the convertible top.
