Glass rear window upgrade on 2001 996 cab

The plastic rear window became detached from the top, so I replaced the whole top with one with a solid glass window. Apparently the glass is for a boxster. Gives the car a speedster look i think.

Thought I'd share.

Nice! Think its the only good way to do if you also want to darken your windows!

Anyway, was it hard to change? Where did you get it from?

Looks good, although not sure it's my personal flavour but i like the look of the smaller window and it does change the shape of the car, I see the appeal - good job

I've posted this before. I had this installed 2 years ago. Love the new lines it gave the car. I feel it really updates the look.

Alameda & Bman - so this is normal size of the rear window? Pardon my ignorance but I've never actually removed my roof and seen my own car with soft top up nor topless (hangs head with shame)

No the afternarket glass window is smaller compared to the plastic window in the 996.1 or the factory glass window in the 996.2.

Am i being a bit dumb here, how can the glass be smaller but the hood remain the same? Larger rubber seal or are we talking replacing the entire Cab hood? smaller glass same hood will fall right through, no?

Sorry - I was not clear. Yes we're talking about replacing the entire cab top.
