Looking for some advice or if someone has had this issue. Just started the other day when I wanted to open up the engine lid. When I push the latch button I hear it open and then close a second later leaving no time to open it up unless I have a helper. Any ideas?

 

My 996 Turbo's engine cover when I push the latch button I hear the latch motor work but the lid pops up a bit. Then I can go to the back of the car and there is enough room to to get my finger tips under the lid and lift the lid.

Does your lid pop up or does it remain fully down as it should when it is completely closed/latched?

 

Oddly enough it started working again. I noticed the hood stays closed as you mention where I think before it popped up a bit
