I agree, if money is not a factor. You'll pay a premium for the Mezger based cars. However, if miles are not a problem, you can find many 996 Turbo cars in the low to mid 30K range. All depends on your budget and expectations.

I money is not problem then you go with a 997 TT as they are much better cars. But 30k range for a 996 TT with 70k miles is still a great car for the money.

Just after completing purchase

01 996TT 110k - no lights / everything works / recent service ... smiles all the way home.

Smart. Forget the 996 if the 996TT is achievable.

Now go change the oil and put some good stuff in it. Euro penzoil 5W-40W is what I used on 9X6 or 9X7

Great looking 996 turbo with the correctly shaped front headlights! ha! Love the smoked turbo twists... makes the car look aggressive! I'm sure you're going to have fun with this one and it being a mezger engine, it should give you many MANY more miles of smiles!

Thank you! I'm guessing it's gonna take a while for the smile to wear off my face.

Yep, it's there *until* you have to replace something on the motor, then the smile turns upside down. But, that's life with p-car ownership.

Where are you guys finding 996tt’s with 70k miles in the 30k range? Links?

Congrats on the purchase!

Once in a blue moon. Recently, a dealership in NC that I was dealing with on another car (for my daughter) was selling a silver 2001 Porsche 996 Turbo for $32,000. It only had 90K miles and was beautiful end to end. The only problem... it was a tiptronic. But regardless, it sold within a week of listing it. Also, recently, I've seen another silver 2001 Turbo manual listed by a dealership in California for $28,000. It had right at 100K miles. These two popped up in the last few months. The best one I've seen was a local guy listed a low miles 996 Turbo in Seal Grey for $35K. I'm talking less than 50K miles. Didn't last either. If I had the money sitting around, I would have snagged it up.

They pop up but rare. Most seem to be selling north of $40,000.

I looked pretty hard for a couple months before I picked up my C4S. Seemed like all the decent tt’s with 50-70k miles were in the mid $40s range. I believe the cheapest TT on car gurus is $32k and even it has 138k miles.

Prices seem very stable at this time if not appreciating somewhat. People better take advantage while they can! But I personally would pay a premium for a nicer well maintained car then trying to find the cheapest in the country.

OP’s car looks nice!

That may be what they are asking for the car but what they sell it for is much different.
