My car is in the body shop to get some paint work done. Some body parts were removed and the battery discharged. Now it does not start. Symptoms:
- Starter spins but no sign of igniting.
- Warning on dash for Tiptronic error.
- P0601 error code using code reader, but no CEL. I did not have my Durametric on hand when I visited the shop.

Any ideas?

Apparently it was something electrical in the fuel pump area. The mechanic tapped on the tank and the car started. He said he then replaced a sensor. I have not yet seen the replaced parts list so I don't know exactly what. While at it he also replaced the fuel pump relay, but that was not the cause.
In hindsight I recall that the car had shown short instants of loss of power a few times just after starting. I now guess that was loss of fuel pressure, and that the issue got aggrevated whe they ran the battery down.
