Where did you get this key fob that needs programming?

 

I plan to purchase a new a one from either Sunset or Suncoast. Both dearerships in Houston charge over$150 to program.

 

That's not a bad deal. An official Porsche dealership with an iPASS system will have to program the keyfobs. This is not something most independent shop deal with.

 

I've seen someone tab into the memory card in the key and copy over all the values found on it to a new one and get the new one to work but it is not a simple or intuitive process. As said, you are probably much better off just paying the 150 and getting it done right. Plus if you have any issues with it in the future you can possibly get that dealer to fix it for you for free or a reduced price if they are good people.
