painting lower plastic panel of C4S
painting lower plastic panel of C4S
I scheduled to paint the lower plastic end of the bottom of the C4S in matching arctic silver. Are there any precautions to take before I commit to it? How long will the paint finish last being that it is on plastic. The shop says I can drop it off in the morning and pick up at nighttime - they would not remove the panels but would instead just isolate the top end with whatever tape is used - all for $350. I decided to go this route rather than lower the car to give it an illusion of being lower b/c of the continuity of the color to the bottom - just don't want to mess with the suspension yet in NYC where the road is so wicked.
Pcar ground effects are Polypropylene I believe......used alot in flexible bumpers.
Select a shop that does this often or well........and it will last a lifetime.
Prep is important.
Ideally these pieces should be off.....preped & painted properly.....I would be troubled by a shop that would want to do otherwise.
1.)Prep and primer 2.)color 3.)clear...........flex agent usually added to 1 # 3
