some C5 eat'n fun
 

On the way home from a weekend road trip I had a little fun with a guy in a C5. We made our way though the light traffic till there was some nice open road. I was in 3rd gear at just over 5k rpm when we took off. What really supriced me was I got out on him by half a car length and kept pulling a bit further ahead though 140 when I shut down (about to crest a hill and concerned about what lay ahead- cops, traffic...).

Did a some research today and what I found is the C5 should have 45 more HP and is 400lbs lighter. He had a female passenger, I was solo and carrying no spare and less than a half tank of gas. I'm left wondering if the guy just sucked going through the gears (or auto maybe?) or if my girl is running that good? Either way I was grinning the rest of the way home... :D

a c5 or c6? a c5 is not lighter than a 996....the c6 is just a tad lighter from what I recall...

C5. Found those numbers on some website so I'll take your word for it. :cool:

i'm no vette expert, i just remember all the hype when the c6 came out how it was lighter than a 911 for the first time.
