B&M Install QUESTIONs: easy ones i think

posted on Renntech as well:

before i proceed any further, does anyone know if:

-loctite or a lock-nut should be used on the set screw. is it required?

-the set screw can face either the front or the back of the car? the directions (pdf) show it facing the back (i believe).

thanks in advance

I had the same problem. Just yank the **** off if you can't find a set screw.

If you are talking about the set screw on the shift **** then I think only the optional ones (like carbon, wood and alu/leather) have it...

The set screw on the new shifter should face the front of the car.
Loctite is not required at this point as you may still need some fine adjustment.
I would strongly suggest marking the cables with tape before removal and adjust the shifter per the Porsche TSB. In other words, tighten the set screw until the shifter will not snap back to the midline from the 5-6 gate, then back it off until it snaps back to midline (neutral).
