Wheels 997's on a 996's
Hey Guys
Just wanted to confirm that narrow bodied 997 wheels have the same offset as narrow bodied 996's. And would be a plug an play. I want to replace my 17" wheels and upgrade to 19" from a 2006 997. Thanks in advance Mark |
Well they will fit, but they are NOT the same offsets....the fronts will be more in the fender and the rears pushed out towards the edge of the fender more....The rears are the same offsets as the GT3, 11" rears instead of 10" on the 997, your 17's may actually be 9" rears. The fronts are 8's you may have 7.5 inch fronts....If you do them, I would suggest a 15mm spacer for the fronts to push them out to where the rears are and balance the look....

Great info! Thanks!
Do people have fender lip clearance issues with the rears? Also in putting 15mm spacers in the front are there any clearance issues to the inner fender lip. As I will be lowering my car this week from stock height about a 1" and prefer not to have rubbing issues. Thanks Mark |
Heres a pic of my car with 997 Sport Design 19's with 15mm spacers on the front...no rubbing front or rear...and its lower than 1" all around....

Excellent looking ride!
And those are the same rims I'm looking at presently. Thanks kindly for the great data. Mark |
