New to the boards...Out with a bang! A Supercharged Bang!

Hi everyone! My pleasure to join the group. Some of you I met at the fantastic Bay Area meet, in what I would like to call the: "Pre-Supercharger era." What a fantastic event, and the people even more so...great group we have here. Most of you know me as "Kevin's buddy" over here in Fresno. Well, I guess it's time to establish my own autonomy!hilarious So, I thought that one way to push myself out of the nest, was to release myself into the world of MODS, and massive amounts of cash DEPRIVATION!!! Kevin and I have been friends for about 12 years. I am proud to say, that he is a true friend, and my best friend...although that was seriously compromised from the moment he convinced me to buy a 996 Cab....hence dumping Un-Godly amounts of cash!
I would like to take a moment to thank Matt Mesler @ Meridean, and Todd Zuccone @ EVO. Thank you Matt for all of your time, energy, support, and friendship. You truly are one of the best guys I have EVER had to deal with. Meridean is A+!! Thanks Todd for all of your help in the project as well, you were just as supportive as Meridean in getting this project done, and done right. I dunno if the folks over at Meridean, and the folks over at EVO went to the same customer service school or not....but WOW!! Really guys...AMAZING!
So....Here it goes with the mods! First, had the interior pieces painted...about 38 total in arctic silver, most used...some not

ABOUT THE SUPERCHARGER:

Meridean was originally doing install, but his Mech was deathly ill. So, Matt and Todd came together on getting this baby back to me in one weeks total time. They were literally unbelievable with their service! I can't say it enough! Again, I want to thank all of the guys at Meridean and at EVO! The car actually ended up over at EVO, compliments of Todd and Matt (or vice versa), because the Supercharger was not performing correctly after one of Todd's tech's (who was flown out to L.A. because of the illness to Matt's mechanic) performed the install. He was on a tight schedule, and didn't get to test the car before he left. So....First Matt double checked the programming, which turned out perfect, and left everybody stumped. Todd and Matt then had the car shipped to EVO. Basically, without knowing verbatim what all of the technical mumbo jumbo is...the problem was a simple diverter valve issue...hose not tight, leaked all of the air from the SC. Simple solution, but no stress on me because of the way that Matt and Todd handled it all. I then had them install the Sach's stage ll clutch, but decided not to go with the light weight flywheel. I didn't do this because of the horror stories that I had heard about all of the noise that it made at idle. Wish I would have done it now. Oh well....future project I guess! ;) They had the car delivered to me in Fresno...(getting the picture here on the service??)
I have had the car for a couple of days now, and the power is just off the hook!1st gear runs through the rpm's scary fast, but sputters a bit after about 6k on the tach, for about 100rpm, then just takes off again until 7k. 2nd gear has great pull about half way through the rev's, and 3rd gear pull is just crazy!!! You are doing 100+ before you even know it. By now, your senses are just on overload, and when you hit 4th gear....my GOD!! I haven't had an opportunity because of weather here, and because of location to let it all out, but I hit 125 soooo fast!!! I spoke with Todd this afternoon, and he said that Ben's car (video) runs through the rev's so quickly and smoothly because of the lightweight flywheel. There is a definite hesitation or "sputter" here and there. Todd also dyno'd the car, and my car dyno'd almost exactly the same as his, Ben's, and a few others. Todd test drove the car himself, and loved it inside and out...Thanks for the props Todd!
Kevin has also drove the car for a couple of days, and I am sure he can add to all of this. I will tell you this...We had a Z06 in front of us, and the guy took off wanting to go. Well, Kev was up for the challenge and so was the car. He pulled even from behind in 1st and 2nd gear, by 3rd, Kev was starting to reel him in, by 4th, he was definitely pulling in front of him...that is when the guy and his Z06 gave up! Wham ! We were gone! True story!
Sorry for the book guys!hilarious But obviously there really was a lot to tell, and bring everyone up to speed with. Thanks for your attention and input!

Justin,
One small word of advise...Lose the bra. I installed a Porsche bra on my TT and got caught in the rain. The dye in the bra bled thru the clear coat and stained it. Tried everything to get it out. Finally called the regional Porsche rep and we took it to a body shop where they compounded off the original clear coat and re-applied new to factory specs. Be careful, man.

Yeah, that is one of the most fun things about the SC - shocking people who think they're seeing things when a porky cab does the unexpected. I've probably sent more than a couple cars (p-cars too) to the service dept with requests to figure out what's wrong with their cars hilarious
