PSM/ABS and CEL light's on !!!!

Hello to everybody !
I have 2000 C2 . I got all 3 lights on right now ,and PSM botton will not work at all.So I took it to Autozone ,to try get some codes. After they run scanner ,3 different codes pop up .
P1577 - pedal position sensor disagreement btwn sensor
P1578 - ETC power less than demand
P1218 - CID low

I got this messages after we hook up scanner to computer :(
And for now PSM stays off ,because PSM botton wouldn't work
Anybody have any idea's what it could be ????
Thank you in advance !
Vadim

try ressetting by unplugging the battery and stepping on the brakes for 30 seconds, hope that it goes away. Will need radio code for this...

Done this ,will not work :( I think something wrong with car :( Anybody have any idea how to read this code's ?

You need somebody with a Porsche shop manual. The meaning of the codes is slightly different among car makers. It appears like some sort of sensor in either steering or brake position isn't working, but only the shop manual will let you pin-point it.

Well , i do have shop manual ,but can't find this codes inside :(

I don't know why the CEL is on but PSM/ABS usually mean the MAF...

Vadim Mar 9, 2007 12:52 PM

Hmm MAF ? But car is running fine ,no change in idle at all .How i can check MAF ?

You probably think PCM as in power controle module?

PSM/ABS light is usually due to a sensor malfunction, such as wheel sensor, steering sensor, brake pedal sensor, etc.

Is it a porsche shop manual or crap like Hannes, etc?

I had very good luck with GM/Nissan/Toyota shop manuals. They would give you a diagnostic procedure for each code and part numbers for what needs to be replaced.

I have copy of original manual ,but when i try find what this code's meant ..nothing :( It is dealer shop manual .

Sounds like you need to visit your friendly local porsche dealer

Vadim Mar 9, 2007 03:25 PM

Thats last thing what i planing to do :)))))) My local dealer is money sucking machine :) I took once my car to them ,they even overlook major oil leak ,so i very sceptical about them :(
