edit: Boxstergirlie, you drive the 911 sometimes? Let us know about the chatter issues on the LWFW, is it annoyingly loud? TIA

i see thanks. i just got my plenum done on my car today!:D

So, how are you liking the LWFW?
Where did you buy it and how much?

Curious since I installed mine a few weeks ago, just hit ~300 miles since the install so time to go have some fun now that it is broke in. Gotta love Texas weather!

i LOVE it! i drove it and rode passenger just so i could feel the difference. it REALLY did change the 0-60 factor! i'm very happy we made the choice go get it. i was a bit hesitant to have it upgraded as i didn't know how much difference it would make, but now, i'd always go with the LWFW. feels like much more HP!

if they did a new clutch with the OEM FW, they quoted $2000 to $2200.

for the LWFW, it was $3000. they didn't charge me anymore for the parts. i priced it out at several performance parts places and they ran the same.

it snowed here in seattle today, so i didn't get to have any fun and try it out much. =(

i wouldn't recommend doing it personally on the 911. it makes more noise and there is no additional hp out of a lwfw on this car. in fact you lose pick-up from a start a bit. it's all seat of the pants.

p.s. that's brandon that jokester!

BoxsterGirlie01 Dec 2, 2007 11:11 AM

benjamin,

well....dang. too late now. it's all installed! lol! oh well. we'll see how it does and when the clutch goes out again (hopefully not in the time we own it!) we'll look at OEM again. by then, we'll be bumping up to the S or maybe the T version anyway.

thanks for your advice! we'll take all into consideration when we get the next pcar.

<~~newbie pcar owner. only had the 996 and the 986 since late may.

sooo much to learn!

Noise (chatter) has not been an issue with my LWFW, very, very slight to the point that it is frankly not even noticeable even with AC on. Spools up more quickly too. Granted it does not increase HP but reducing the rotating mass by 20+ pounds does make a difference.

i've notice the noise to be a little chattery, but not bad at all so far. i hear they need a little time to break in a bit? oh well, i think of it as "music to my ears". lol! for anyone that gets into the car and doesn't know anything about LWFW, they may think "what is that sound??". But, to anyone else that knows about mods.....they'll appreciate it.....i hope. i do when i drive it. i've truly noticed a difference. i call it "throw your head back in the seat factor". and now, it has a little more of that, along with a big grin on my face when it happens. i'd say it was worth it. haven't taken it to the track yet. that won't be 'till spring. it's snowing here! aghhh!

btw..carrera mike......BEAUTIFUL!!! thanks for the pics!
