I think trying to get on a warranty at this state would be considred to be a fraud.

Thinking about those two scenarios makes me wanna smoke crack! I cant believe these design problems exist in a car that cost 90K new? And this car only has 35K miles! Anybody know how much an engine costs, with installation?? This sucks! Okay guys it seems the problem has turned from "worst case scenario" to "hopeful"!!!! I have been starting the car every morning for 5 minutes before i go to work, and noticed the smoke has been gradually decreasing. This morning i started her up and almost no smoke came out. So when i got home i started her up and no smoke came out, so i drove her around for a few miles to see if any lights or warnings came on, and nothing. (yippeee!!) I checked the engine area and under the car and found no leaks or low fluids. Im thinking the smoke symptoms are a result of what wittenbergj and deputydog95 wrote. I will still get her checked out, and keep yall posted.

He spoke to the dealership and apparently under hard cornering some oil goes somewhere and then when its sits it seeps down and then gets burnt on the next start-up. This guy has done this several times and has seen this from a few others. https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...tons/quote.gif https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...quickreply.gif wittenbergjView Public ProfileSend a private message to wittenbergjFind all posts by wittenbergjAdd wittenbergj to Your Buddy List #5 https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ons/report.gif https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...n/post_old.gif 03-26-2007, 05:53 PM https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ine=1173155886deputydog95 https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ser_online.gif vbmenu_register("postmenu_1019050", true); Registered User Join Date: Apr 2004 Location: Clearwater, FL Age: 37 Posts: 5,202 puffs of white smoke on startup isn't a big deal. my dealer says it looks like london fog in the morning when they start moving the cars around the lot :) however, i would be a little more concerned to see it after the car has been running for a while. |
wow, we need to get you into the "quoting other posters 101" course asap! what a mess :D

Well...maybe his head was somewhere else. I know mine would be if I was looking a possible cracked head/cylinder. But, if it turns out to be a false alarm we can beat him up for sure.

Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago, I turned hard on an on-ramp...right turn. When I got onto the highway I floored it through 3rd and 4th, when I saw a HUGE cloud of smoke. It filled 4 lanes wide with smoke! I immediately pulled over and shut it down. I called my mechanic and he advised that it is not unheard of and if the engine light didn't come on then it was nothing. I cautiously started the car again only to find more smoke coming from the exhaust. He reassured me it was fine and after 10 minutes of driving it all burned off and has never come back.
My mechanic advised that it was probably the oil seperator and that if there was the slightest problem at all, the oversensitive engine light would have come on. Bottom line, call your mechanic first for advise. If you want to be freaked out, post a thread and you must expect any possible answer. I'm not knocking anyone here, just remember posting and responding here is not the same as speaking to a tech. |

You know what, I'm not too sure, I just remember it was a lot of smoke.... It was more white than blue... but my oil level went down 2 ticks after the incident...
