V1/Radar falses...

RJ's post about his V1 made me remember to post this...

Anyone ever get a very strong false K or even sometimes Ka from what seems is another car?

I have had very strong Ka signals that don't ease off as I drive, so I can tell they're not coming from a fixed point. In experimenting, I can get in front of cars and tell which one it's coming from. I have found it coming from pickups a couple of times to a Lexus, to a beater. I am guessing it's a dirty radar detector in their cars, but it's happened about 4 or 5 times now over the last year and not in every car can I visibly see their radar detector, so I'm not 100% sure that's what it is.

Anyone else experience this?

LanceK is infamous around these parts
Just a couple days ago I was driving through a quiet residential neighborhood and picked up a very strong Ka band signal. I actually went up and down the street a couple times looking for a cop car parked in someone's garage to confirm my reading. I didn't find a thing.

My understanding is that many security systems etc. will give you an X or K reading, but the Ka thing had me baffled.

Any ideas?
