GT3 seating

In an attempt to save some weight, I'm thinking of swapping out my adaptive sport seats for the euro GT3 seats. I'm 5'6", and at the lowest setting, I can see over the dash and hood, but barely. Are these seats going to put me in a position that is too low? Anyone do the swap yet?

I have them in my car. The rails have two holes stacked vertically front and back so you do have some height and seat/back angle adjustability. I have mine mounted in the lower holes (highest driving position) both front and back and sit a little higher than in the stock seats with room to clear a helmet. I'm 5'8" so you should be fine.

Thanks for all the replies. I've never sat in these seats before, I know they are very snug for twisties, but how are they in terms of comfort? Any issues about rear seat access? I was thinking about taking those out.

i don't have them in the RS but the same style seats are in the CGT. love them. actually best seat i've sat so far on any cars. the closest comfort to it is the Ferrari 360CS seat i had but the thigh area was too tight. the RS seat is superior than the old GT3 seat because it doesn't have the huge shoulder padding like the old seat. without both hands on the steering wheel it can be comfortable unlike the old style seat.

the rear seats are shot. not safe to sit people in the back since it doesn't tilt anymore.

the new sport seat is about 7kg lighter than the current sport seat. however, the RS seat is about 7kg total each. just to clearify. the RS seat is about more than 10kg lighter than the new sport seat.

Sure I want to save weight, but at $9000 a pair, that's a little excessive.

sure i understand. Nobody is forcing u to buy them though. I'm just providing the data/info that i know hopefully they're helpful, since ur goal was trying to save weight.

Knowing Porsche, i wouldn't hold my breath to thpse new seat because unlikely they'll be much cheaper than the RS seat. Anything related to carbon is expensive nowadays. We shall see.

Or maybe looking into some other Recaro options.

So, what is the issue? Sounds like they do just what they where designed too, by lightening your wallet!
