Which R.D ??
I have a V1 hardwired to the fuse box. The only complaint I have is too many false alarms. I have it on a less sensitive mode to eliminate X band but this thing picks up auto sliding doors every time I cross a strip mall or shopping plaza.
It has saved me a couple times with Ka band over a hill with a lot of warning time. The range of this detector is pretty impressive. The bogey counter is also great and something I would greatly miss if I switched detectors.
You can't go worng with either. I like the V1 because it seemed more complete, the bogey counter is great and its upgradable for future software versions. I know ppl like the GPS feature on some other detectors but I don't know much about them or how well they work.

Do a search next time. A majority prefer the V1 over the Passport 9500.
As for myself, I prefer the V1 despite the fact that it does give off a fair bit of false alarms. I currently have both the Passport SRX and V1. I use the former for laser diffusion and latter for radar coverage.

But nothing like a little Passport and K40 bashing to start a good 6speed fight! Throw in the topic of ceramic brakes, and Vettes outperforming Porsches, and you have the makings of a long, if not necessarily good, thread . . .
