Nissan GT-R R35 beats Porsche 997 Turbo
So, if several people on this forum posted messages saying "wow, I never thought of it that way. Now that I have heard crand002's arguments, I have totally changed my opinion." You would not consider it at least a moral victory? Fighting a battle you don't want to win (or don't care about winning) is worse that fighting one you can't win.
Also, I never said that those that can afford to buy a 997TT are "better" than anyone else and I never opined about their level of effort in life. You made that assumption all on your own. All I said was that those who have earned the money to purchase one - and have done so - would be very unreceptive to your arguments.
Watch your logical leaps my young friend.
Good luck in your crusade.

One of the first laws of war: fight only those battles you have a chance of winning.
I admire your spunk, but this is the wrong forum for such a spirited post about "thick skulled P-car owners." It becomes particularly hard to change the mind of a P-car owner that has worked his *** off to actually buy the car. We are among the least likely to be swayed by such a lecture.
No offense, but fight battles you can win.

.Now, if I had my choice between a 997TT and a GTR, I'd take the 997TT too (but I can't afford a $140K car). However, I think its great that for half the price of a 997TT you get a car that offers what the GTR has. And yes, I'd take a GTR over the Z06 I owned any day of the week.....at least from what I have seen and heard thus far.

A 430 Scuderia gets my respect, but not a Nissan whose interior is straight from a G35 and has FUGLY looks to boot. Problem with rice cars is that they are so high tech, that they can never be the "driver's cars" in the GT2/GT3/Scuderia/Stradale sense. A great car should be fast, but also a bit challenging. This is why an R35 will never be in the history books on the same page as its european counterparts.
Every thread I have posted regarding this issue I have noted that I would take a 997TT over the GTR. I am simply stating that too many P-car owners are so close minded they can't dare to think another car is something special because of it's "brand" or "heritage". Come follow one my lines at Willow Springs and tell me that because you drive a "P-car" and it has "heritage" you will be faster.
My family has owned Porche's since the day I was born and I have been hooked since. This has nothing to do about bashing Porsche this has to do with getting through to peoples thick skulls that other cars are capable of matching if not overmatching the "Porsche" despite the "brand". The Porsche is great but so is the GTR and if by saying that is "talking ****" then I guess I'm a total jerk. How dare me.
"Own one of the two cars at question then talk ****!"
That makes no sense. Have I ever driven a R35 GTR? No. Have I ever driven a Skyline? No, but been in a few. Have i ever driven a 997 TT? No. Have I ever driven a TT Porsche? Yes, many times. Can I adequately give a driving comparison of the GTR and 997? No, but that is not the point. I prefer the Porsche but my experiences with the Skyline have given me the appreciation for it that not many here will give it.

I also said that the GTR is a great car. I have driven the last R34 many times. I've owned a modded 996tt and now own a 997tt. So I guess from that stand point, I have a little better knowledge of both cars from firsthand experience and not from reading magazines. However, that is not the point I am getting at. Just stop the trash talking. I agree that we should respect the GTR for it's technological advancements and pure performance stats.
Doesn't matter if it's rice warhead, rice ICBM, or rice Star Wars... it's not something I would buy instead of a GT2. So to me, it's a moot point.

Spoken like a true badge snob. Get a grip dude. You come off as the type that equates "driver's cars" to $$$$$$...... and I'll tell you right now that I have not been in more of a "driver's car" than the CaymanS that I owned and it can be had for about $50K these days. If you, for one minute, think that a GTR is not a "driver's car" then you are nothing more than what I picked you out to be from the onset........a badge snob. Get over the Euro snob bull**** already and repsect a great car for what it is regardless of what badge it has on its hood. Your rationale is ridiculous.
In all due respect, maybe Hamann7 had the same experience despite the badges. At least you should give us all the benefit of the doubt.

my goodness, when does this end! Why are all these kids from the Honda forums coming here to push what they only dream of owning. Are they so far off from reality, that they themselves decide to create an increasing gap between various car nuts! Come back in a few years when you're a little bit older kid.

Actually, why Willow Springs? Let's go to Laguna Seca and you can try and follow my lines. Let's not get into who the better driver is. There are a lot of people on this forum that can really do some serious road racing. I will reiterate once more. If you don't own or have driven both, you are just stat racing.

I own a 850 rwhp 996TT as well as a 690 rwhp evo 8. I love both for different reasons...
