It's in the owner's manual too -

Note If a small quantity of fuel is added to a nearly empty fuel tank, the fuel gage cannot measure the added fuel accurately. The „remaining range" readout will also be incorrect.

Ummm...am I the only one that finds this a little aggravating, on a $140K car?? I understand the cramped space in these cars but those legendary porsche engineers couldn't resolve this issue by the time they made it to the 997??

There's probably a mechanical engineer on here just as annoyed at folks who stand ready to highlight design deficiencies in lieu of solutions.....or perhaps another as confused at the person who purchases a $140K vehicle yet only puts in $20 worth of gas at a time??? Seriously....the vehicle goes 0-60mph sub 4 seconds regardless of how sloppy one may row the gears, but we just can't weasel out enough time to fill up the rest of the tank.

LOL, I was about to post the exact same thing. Although I've been caught before getting $5 dollars worth of gas because they didn't have 93/4.
