Here is the vid of 630 HP Techart doing 10.8 in 1/4...in 2 diff races

I think you kit must run somewhere around 10.5 then :))) may be I will test soon

That black Techart TT is also DOA.....

Honestly, I am not real excited about doing multiple clutch dumps to eek out the best 60' time. It doesn't come close to reflecting my intended applications, but I am sure if someone worked on it the car would be an easy 10 second car at the current power levels.

Keep in mind my car turned 24+ mph faster than a stock C6Z06 and 16+ mph faster than the 08 (650hp) Viper on a standing mile run-off with a crappy soft launch. Both those cars have run 10 second quarters bone stock.

I am very happy for you...I am looking to buy 997 TT now and going to be looking for 700 kit from this boards tuners...Right now its AWE700 or EVO ET700...Evo says on their website that thier kit is fastest...proven in Texas mile...

GT the Evo was very fast - might have hit 195-200 mph if the winds weren't so strong. There is a difference though in that the EVO car was their shop car - a car tweaked for maximum power, and stripped for weight savings. The AWE kit is designed to be a finished product for someone who wants serious power but without any drivability or reliability issues, and one that should be free of hassle (my wife has been driving it for the past 2 weeks). It is also a kit that is readily installed with the tuning already fully sorted out - you don't need to ship your car to them for the install

Not to highjack the thread but the only weight savings that EVO had done to Todd's daily driver EVT700 997TT is the Euro GT3 seats. (It was definately not stripped) I don't know what it was like in TX, but when it ran an 10.8 it was full factory weight. It has trapped as high as 134mph in AZ elevation too. There are good amount of customer EVT700's running around as well. Both are great kits.

Thanks Louis...I think AWE 700 car can run 10.8 as well with good launch...

Are both car manual ???

Is it better to get manual TT or Tips for modding...I hear Tip is faster...

I agree that with the right tires and launch the AWE car is in the high 10's as well.
EVO's car is a manual and I beleive that eclou's car is also a manual.
For the kind of power that these cars are putting out, the manual transmission is better IMO. That is not to say that a tip would be bad, it's just my personal preference and opinion. A few mags tested the STOCK tip 997TT's running faster than the manuals, but it was only a couple hundreds of a sec, something that in the real world could not be noticed by you or me.

GT RUS Apr 18, 2008 09:50 AM

OK thanks...If tips is faster then I would want tips...almost 2 secs diff to 160 or so...

GT RUS,

I would consider staying with the 6spd manual just because you can upgrade the clutch to handle more and more power. I think with the tip there is not much you can do to strengthen it (it is already pretty strong) if needed

I have heard from EVO that stock Tiptronic can handle EVO700. If so, I don't think there is much more needed

Yes..700 kit is enough to start with...the only thing that all people on this board have 6 speed manuals...I have not good offer for Tips...+ all the tuners are telling me that 6 speed manual is way to go:confused: but with 700 kit Tips again will be faster...although it revs to 6700 rpms only...

Not all, I have Tip :p

Anyway, the new tranny which Porsche will introduce this summer on basic 911 is way to go!!

It should be on Turbo year after!

Tip works for me until that day!

Tod /AWE..

Can you list what comes with the kit? Is an ECU map flash done as well, if so how would this be effected if I did a DIY fitting of the kit.

Sounds like a wonderfully engineered upgrade. Congrats!
