Truckers going on Strike - Tell me it's not true!

Ok, as you all know by now, my car (on the vessel Green Cove), passed through the Panama Canal on 3/28 and is on its merry way to the Port of San Diego, with arrival on Sunday, 4/6. Then it will be put on a truck to Seattle. HOWEVER, I hear rumors that the truckers across America are quietly planning a strike sometime between the 4th-24th of April? Does anyone know anything about this? My car already got stuck in the factory fire and lost a week, please tell me this is not true.

Where did you hear this rumor?

I wouldn't worry about it until it actually happens. Think POSITIVE, Greta!

No worries! I live in San Diego, have time off and would be glad to drive it up there :)

Or tow it..... Actually if you really need help, let me know

That is mighty kind of you sir! Your boat looks big enough that maybe we could just put it on that and you could cruise it up for me! thanks for the offer, really!

I'd hate to have the car on the bottom of the Pacific. But in all honesty if it came down to having it towed up there or some variation of that, I would be willing to do it. I work for cheap :)

Good luck with getting the car.

Drive it as in Ferris Buehler's Day Off? Seriously, a very nice offer.

If it was on a trailer, no driving at all.

I actually watched FBDO yesterday, that's funny.

;)

No no no, its not a Ferrari:p

I doubt a car transport company would have guys going on strike. I would think only major companies would have the problem if it were to happen.

I hope things work out for you. In the worst case where it's stuck in San Diego there's a great hotel/resort called the Hotel Del Coronado . Maybe you can spend a few days, see the car and then decide whether to wait or drive it home over some beautiful roads. http://www.hoteldel.com/

In the current situation though you are still slated to get the car on time -- this little snag only builds on the eager anticipation and will make your first drive that much more special .

Good luck Greta.
