strada,

you have more important things to do than this. If the internet had been invented by Al Gore before I had finished med school I would still be trying to graduate. By the time you get back out to the real world this GTR will be but a passing memory.

I have no insight on why they would have a faster tire on a standard car other than the Bridgestones apparently do better in the rain, like I said, I don't know the reasoning why. That is a point where I dunno, discussion may be possible?

Secondly, I have seen this attitude with you and other members all the time in the threads whenever something is remotely not pro-Porsche in stance. I'm sure you'd care about ring times if a 997 all of a sudden threw down a 7:25, I'm sure there would be a hundred threads about how it beat the GTR.
But to reiterate, I have said a million times I'd take a GT3 over a GTR any day of the week, I just like discussing cars. If I posted this in a Nissan forum people would just spew equally irrelevant dribble in favor of the GTR and discount the tire issue.
I found the article interesting and it cleared up some things from discussions past, I didn't want this to turn into a which car is better thread.
I posted the info to show how it got faster, and that it was a standard car and the Dunlop issue being a bit odd, hence making it to the title.

But it's the same old **** responses that start flame wars and you don't even realize I'm not on the opposite side...just not on yours either.
Blah, blah, blah.............

Who cares.............just go away already!

I don't like people like you and too bad. I didn't come on here looking for people like to converse with. Your obvious disregard to opinion pro or con makes you look like the *** here not me.

I have owned many cars and I have stated several times that I would consider and most likely buy a R35 GT-R so put that in your pipe and shove it.

Now get out of your closet and do something constructive like read a book and not GT-R magazines.

Sheesh get a clue...

Are you seriously illiterate or intentionally dense?? This is my last post directed at you, as this is more futile than arguing with an infant.

For the billionth time, I don't like the GTR more than a car. I am amazed by what Nissan did, and I think it's pretty amazing in the performance it offers for the price and it provides fodder for other companies to improve their product. Also it provides me and more rational, literate people a place to discuss cars.

THAT BEING SAID:
I would rather have one of many Porsche's in my garage. I'll say it again more specifically, because you clearly cannot read. I would rather have a GT3 over a GTR, any day of the week. If that makes me "pro" everything but Porsche, then I don't know what else to say to you. Read the bold over and over you moron.

As for this post. I answered your question, but again reading isn't your strong suit, or perhaps its your comprehension that is lacking, either way, try harder.
The Dunlops ARE standard on a US spec car, as confirmed by Doug's (switchcars) order sheet. I said I don't know why they would put a faster dry tire standard other than giving the premium one more all-round usability.

To repeat again, I posted the article as a point of discussion/opinion. I'm not afraid of it or else I wouldn't have posted this article in a Porsche forum.
I have no stake in either car, and unlike you my panties don't get bunched whenever one beats the other.
The article was cited to foster discussion and opinion not to bash the 997 or praise the GTR, it was goddamn information and just that.
New facts came out about the spec of the GTR that lapped in 7:29. People were speculating what tires and specs it had, and this article and some other new ones confirm that it was indeed a STANDARD spec car that did it. I posted it here for those interested about how it got 9 seconds faster out of the blue...

I posted the issue about the Dunlops as far as in the title as I also found it strange that the standard tire provided a dry advantage as compared to the premium pack. It wasn't pro-GTR or anti-Porsche. It was anti-GTR if anything and a point raised about a weird oddity Nissan used to get a faster time that I found interesting.
If I discussed this in a NAGTROC they would discount the Dunlops being faster, as quick as you were to claim that they weren't really standard until switchcars made you look like an idiot and you changed your tone rather quickly...

Also, a forum is where people discuss and converse, look up the definition. I don't know what you think this place is for if you don't come here to converse with people like me, then perhaps it isn't me, but your lack of grasp of English that led you to believe this was somehow an anti-Porsche or a pro-GTR post. I don't know what to say to make you understand that.

Finally, I could give a **** about what you owned or will own. Money as you clearly show, isn't correlative to brains.
If you can somehow figure out what I have said, I welcome your opinion on the shadiness of the tire issue...otherwise shut up about me being a fanboy lest you futher confirm your inability to read.

mricorp - again thanks for your input, as always, way to address me and not the issue...and again for someone who doesn't care...about something admittedly anti-Nissan in a way...you sure like to post here.

Eclou - we're winding down the year, and it's a bit less work than usual...hence my "free time". And yes it will be a passing memory, hence why I don't really care...I just like to discuss cars. Apparently me posting a bit of Nissan shadiness is still not enough to get anymore than a bunch of worthless responses as if I'm praising the GTR. That being said, you're absolutely right, I'm outta here for now...I tried my best to make a neutral GTR thread but that failed too...

+1 - I didn't even read your quoted comment.

Pretty impressive for one handed typing. Perhaps you should use both hands next time so that way you can make some free time to see daylight. Get lost.

Hey Alpine, what size are your wheels? The look awesome but up here in NY I would probably bend them in half in a week.

I can't lower it this time either. Don't want to wreck my white lower lip

We dont care who's side you are on. You drive a g35 and you come on a porsche forum and start sackriding your sistercar. If the other gt-r threads are locked then maybe thats a hint to people like you to quit making useless threads. Just get off 6speed..go over to hondatech where maybe you will fit in

^ Right...I own a G35 and instead of sackriding the GTR, I was nut-busting it/talking about it in a NOT sackriding environment. But like alpine and mri you seem to lack reading abilities...so you never caught on...

Makes me wonder how exactly you are successful enough to purchase one of these yet lack basic English comprehension, then again, like I said money != brains.

This was just an attempt to post an informative article for those interested from previous discussions about how a 7:29 was achieved "without mods" and if anything calling out Nissan about shady use of tires that are on the standard car but faster than the premium pack which is a clever marketing gimmick it seems to entice people to buy something they aren't really getting with the premium pack which costs more but goes slower.

Don't know how you people cant see that it isn't pro-Nissan, but I give up.

I said everywhere (title and posts) I didn't want an argument as I wasn't bashing a 997 or praising a GTR...but here we are. I tried to get some discussion going about it but was met with mricorp, yours, and Alpines inability to decipher written word.

Just trying to have a neutral discussion without it turning it into what it has. I didn't post this on the Nissan forums because it would have just been all favorable arguments towards the GTR which isn't what I wanted so I tried here which blew up even worse thanks to previous fan boys...

My mistake, I confused you all with actual car enthusiasts and not Porsche nuthuggers that have created the stigma around your legendary senses of self-worth and pretentiousness which sucks for all the down to earth and all round better owners out there.
You who are so tightly wound around their cars, you don't realize when someone is making an anti-Nissan/GTR neutral thread...

I'll leave you all to your 997s and get back to Hondatech?? for my G35, again thank you for ending this on such a moronic note that I'd go to a Honda forum for my Infiniti...just top notch show of intelligence.

Mods can go ahead and lock. I'll spend my efforts trying to discuss with less pompous *******s.

And mricorp, I wonder how your tact would be if I was in front of you and tried to have a discussion...way to hide behind the internet and sorry my at best GTR-neutral thread threw you into such a tailspin...

alpine, I'd make fun of you for your inability to read some more...but you took care of it with your last "I didn't read" post...

@ you thinking, I'm leaving in any way.

And I wasn't trying to be tough over the internet unlike you, I have no idea who you are and you don't know who I am, that would be silly now wouldn't it Rob...?
I was just simply wondering that if I was talking to you in person and brought this exact topic up at a meet or what have you, how you'd react...
I'd bet my bottom dollar you'd be much less of a hardass than you think you are on the net...
Here's a newsflash, I'm not intimidated by you in the least, frankly your juvenile attitude and self-affirming bull**** is as much an indicator of how much you much you are compensating as I need.

But go on, continue to be an pompous ****...it's entertaining at the very least and provides me with endless joy that you think you are as much as a speck on my radar.

Whereas wait, I seem to be the focus of your existence on the board lately, as quick search of your last few posts all seemed to be riding my dick me even though I have never so much as even posted at you directly or even referred to a post of yours before...seriously who the **** are you and why do you think I or anyone cares?

Step off my nuts Rob...I don't swing your way.
