How would you react?

I took my wife out for a quick drink at South Beach tonight. We find a great parking spot on busy Ocean Drive. So far so good.

We get out of the car and before I even cross the street this tourist sits on my rear fender while his buddy takes a pic.

I lost it!!! I ran back to my car and tell him to GET OFF!! The guy smiles and says its just a picture, still sitting on the car. I am fairly patient but if I tell you to get off my car and you dont, I am "helping" you off.

Freaking guy ruined our evening, but I ruined his vacation.

Sorry just got home and had to vent.

Sorry to hear, they deserved it.

I would have taken the camera, broken it on the ground then dropped a 100 bill on the ground, Godfather style.

to sit on your car to take a picture is disrespectful. when you then ask him not to do that, and he tells you that your concerns about your property are not significant is a higher offense. would i now slug him-no-but i would call the police and file a complaint. you might disagree, but i am sensitive to how upset you were. i wouldn't become violent about this type of activity, but i would make a complaint. now if he took out a key and scratched it in front of you, different story.

Did the tourist dent or scratch the paint?

Venting is good to get off the chest.

Lots of things would cross my mind "again" since I had that happen as well.

I don't care for Ocean Drive yet go to South Beach often . I'll be glad to PM you the best parking areas if you care to know.

You had a bad night. At least both you and your wife as well as your car are safe and ok .

Hang in there.

PM sent .

An interesting situation. I'm not sure how I would have reacted in that situation but it would depend how far I was from the car. I'm guessing I would be stunned shaking my head in disbelief. If it was for just a brief moment for a photo op, I probably would have just let it slide since sitting on the bumper will not damage the car. That said, I wasn't in the heat of the moment. One has to worry about irrational people like that and the complete disrespect for personal property and space. What nationality was the tourist? Could be a cultural no big deal kind of thing.

I don't sit on my own car and certainly would lose it if I saw someone else do it! Not to mention refuse to get off when told to!

Posing in front of it is one thing but leaning or sitting on someones car is highly disrespectful.
Dont worry you did the right thing!

WTF?! You dont go around just sitting on any car ya see parked especially an expensive one! I cant believe he did it RIGHT when you parked while you were still there. "Hey honey I'll just rub my jean rivets on this Lamborghini here to get that perfect shot of you in the sunset."

The Jean rivets are exactly what I was worried about. I think the guys were Italian.

I asked them in english and spanish to get of as well as gestured, all he kept saying was "its ok it only a picture". I told him picture is ok but no sitting.

I dont go out much and even less to Ocean Drive its just that my wife had a craving for a Wet Willlies drink.
