TT may have to go :>((

After 1 glorious year with my TT, I may have to let it go as I am going to leave SoCal and reside full time at my home on Flathead Lake in Montana. Sadly, I have a long unpaved access road to my unpaved driveway there, and the last time I had my e39 M5 up there it was almost impossible to keep from high centering it, even with its stock ride height. The nearest dealer is in Spokane WA, a dreary 300 miles. I could leave the TT in my airplane hangar in town and commute back and forth the 5 miles in my truck, but the logistics of keeping the car in the hangar during the summer, and not being able to drive it at least 5 months of the year due to really nasty weather are pointing towards selling it. I've been reluctant to reach a final decision, but living on the beautiful lake outweighs the fun drives in the TT. Has anyone here faced not being able to keep their TT at home for road/driveway/weather considerations? Any suggestions on how to sell an expensive car like a TT?

I'm depressed....

I sold a 997S at the height of local xenon theft . The stress of keeping it exceeded the reward ... so I thought .

18 months later I was back in a Porsche .

I missed it so much . Every day without it was somehow compromised by its loss .

Two planes: A Husky and a LongEZ that are mine and C-185 on amphib floats that also live in my hangar. The financial aspect isn't what's depressing - it's getting rid of a toy that may no longer fit my life. I am going to have to get some cars to drive that can handle the 1) terrain and 2) wx. I'm not sure the 550 can get down the road, the TT wouldn't get 20'.

If money is not a problem.....is it out of the question to have the access road and driveway paved....or at leat re-constructed to a better surface?

I guess everything is relative - I had two contractors look at the situation and it would be North of $350K to take the humps and dips out, and get to a hard surface (but not paved - some sort of packed gravel surface)

it seems like too much money to drive a $100K car home

not worth having a $100,000 adornment in a hangar. sell and move on.
cayenne gts 6 speed would be the proper replacement

I've spent summers there since I bought the home and built my hangar in 1989 - it is where I want to spend my time. Come see me up there Bill - your Mustang will fit in the hangar, and the guy next to me has a big engined L-29 we can fly - 530 MPH !!
