Ok, now it's coming down to this...

I'm a couple weeks away from actually pulling the plug and I'm pretty much down to my last two choices. You can give me your advice and it is HIGHLY appreciated (don't comment the scale of the prices as they are ridiculous ):

--------------------------------------------------------------------
1) 06 (registered Oct/06) 997TT EVT700 tip
19 000 km (11800 miles)
Price tag currently at 229 000 eur ($309k)

Advantages:
- Crazy fast (drove it today, and still out of words)
- Already tuned and ready to be pressed hard
- In decent shape inside out
- Sounds mean
- Loaded

Disadvantages:
- "wrong color", I like white
- Hasn't been through the mandatory vehicle inspection (must be done to every car on its 3rd year) and in Finland you can increase only hp 20% without registering it. So there might be full stop there...
- Again engine light is on and flat tire light is on (Can those be fixed reliably at the Porsche dealer???)
- Few squeaks here and there, especially brakes (Ceramic brakes)
- How do I get the EVOMSit tune for tip updated???

--------------------------------------------------------------------
1) 07 (registered Mar/07) 997TT stock tip
15 000 km (9500 miles)
Price tag estimated at 190 000 eur ($257k)

Advantages:
- Right color
- Less miles
- Newer
- Cheaper even after tuning
- Loaded

Disadvantages:
- Haven't seen the car
- Located in Germany and must be picked up and driven over (not a big deal)
- Yet to be tuned (planning to put EVT stage 3 on it) and it will take time :(

--------------------------------------------------------------------

No matter which I take, there will be GT2 bumper change and new matte black 20" HRE P41's all around.

Thanks!!!

TAXES in Finland are just f...ing ridiculous!

I've checked out that car and I love it. But all of my contacts are telling me to stay out of the Eastern European market because lots of stolen vehicles out there and stuff...

Alex_997TT Apr 18, 2009 11:35 AM

Yes, those prices are at least 100,000 euros more than they should be!

love white over cocoa.........looks insane.

I won't comment on price but I would pick the silver car . It's already there and you've driven it --two huge plus factors . I happen to like the color . It looks like a spaceship low level flying . That's my pick of the two.

Do you think the dealer can reliably fix the engine light issues?

milou Apr 19, 2009 02:29 PM

I would go for the white since is my favorite color (mine is white too:D) and do the mods you like, you'll enjoy it more.

Now about pricing, i paid 250,000 euro for my turbo convertible hire in Cyprus,

If i was in states i could buy a Carrera GT hilarious

Of course it can be fixed . Whether or not you can accomplish it at in your dealership would be a matter of discussing it with them and making the purchase contingent on a perfect car .

As for software updates or tuning adjustments you would have to contact whoever installed it . If the car was done in the states and shipped to Finland then it's a matter of placing your tecnicians there in touch with those here .

Just as we post or communicate via post they can via e mail from long disatnce areas to address fixing the car .

At the prices which you are paying have you considered taking a trip to go to to the states , buy a car , have it tuned at Evoms and send it to Finland? This way you see the car in person and get it the way you want it .

I think you answered your own question with this simple comment

I have always waited and bought the perfect car for me not setting for a color or option package that I am not 100% sold on. Remember it's something your going to walk out and see every day, you never want to have to think wish i would have gotten white (or fill in the blank)

I think you're right. I found a brand new one here in Helsinki, easy to buy and everything, but... no freaking sport adaptive seats. It has the regular ventilated seats as 2009 is equipped with. I really have trouble settling with those seats with 250k eur price tag, when I can get 40k cheaper (used)car having the right set up.
