TT Gasman's Ruf 550
I've put about 1200 miles on since getting my conversion back. About 50/50 daily driving and spirited Wisconsin country roads. No track time yet.
1. Most of the power that I feel is torque that comes on like a tsunami at about 2800 RPM. It's enough to break the rear wheels loose if the tires aren't warmed up. There is essentially no lag.
2. LWFW - the verdict is...fantastic. Everyone worries about rattle and noise. The reality is it is pretty minimal, unless you really load the engine on a high gear, or have the AC on and idle. Funny thing is, with Sports mode on, there is no chatter at idling RPMs.
I'm not sure I can really describe what the flywheel is like. Acceleration is very brisk in 1st and 2nd gear. The combination of improved throttle with the throttle and lightweight forged wheels, and diminished lag from the exhaust is a little scary out of 1st gear. I love it.
3. Suspension. Very balanced, a lot less understeer.
In a word, I wish I didn't have to spend all the $$$ for Ruf to make this car the way it should have come from the factory. But now that I have, it is nothing but smiles.

I would do it again in a Nanosecond! This car just puts the power down like nothing else.
As bobby said you have to be judicious with the throttle application and cold tires. I'm taking it to the track on June 6, full report to follow.

Nice, smooth, and understated. Which rims/tires/sizes are those? I really like the spoke pattern; a good balance between classy and aggressive. Also, the sidewalls look particularly stiff, or maybe they are just perfectly sized? Are they PS Cups?
How does the RUF exhaust sound compared to the tubi ?
Doug, looks awesome. Congrats.
Your used Tubi arrived up here and look forward to getting it on my car in the next week or so. Just back from my 5th and 6th track days of the year down at Thunderbolt.

The Ruf is a deeper tone, but to be brutally honest I think the Tubi has a more aggressive sound.
