For those who don't understand, this is the Dension Gateway 500 we offer for iPod and Bluetooth.

 

Unless I'm missing something, this provides no updates for Porsche, correct?

 

^^^Exactly...what does this do for Porsches? AVR?

 

There were a handful of updates, modifications and bug fixes related to PCM, Bluetooth Telephone and another feature, that migrated through two earlier beta versions. If you are running 2.15 or earlier, these updates are now completed and in 2.18. From time to time fixes are made to beta firmware, we end up testing, but it does not get released due to the timing of a full rework. So 2.18 is the most current. But if your system is running fine, and you do not wish to update, no biggie.

I've made the switch from NAV TV to Dension & that might of been a mistake!
I can't seem to get the songs, artists, or whatever listed on my PCM. The longs will play through on manual ipod control, but I've got to reach over to the glove box & toggle the ipod for this.

The other thing is that when I make calls on the bluetooth system, I can hear the call well in the car but the person I'm talking to can barely hear me. I put the microphone in the factor location on the steering column.

I was hoping to get your thoughts & advice??

 

G-force....no mistake, brother. You just need to set up the unit properly using the correct menu commands (disc 6). "+paging" will get you the corrected setting, and you also need to be sure your source is GW not iPodUI. You can set all of this in the menu settings.

As for the update, we often get the first release before it is posted online. We are the primary US distributor for this product, and we also beta test hardware/firmware, though this is not beta, this is a final release, and we got lucky and got it early, so we posted it to our customers and to the Porsche community.
