New Project - EVT900 Clubsport - 3.8L GT35's Full Engine Build - TIPTRONIC

This seems to be the month of Tiptronics. We have some major projects taking place with Tiptronic cars and we will without a doubt be pushing the limits of this transmission with this engine. This project is being built for a very good customer of ours in Bahrain who has many EVOMS prepared Porsche cars. Back in 2002, we built this client a 996TT engine with strengthened internals. This was our first 996TT engine that we built and 7 years later, it is still going strong. We have also built this customer a 700 HP 996TT GT2 and a 700 HP 997TT GT2.

Engine Details:
  • EVOMS built 3.8L conversion
  • EVOMS spec Carrillo connecting rods
  • EVOMS 12mm head stud conversion
  • EVOMS CNC ported cylinder heads w/ titanium big valves and associated titanium valve train components
  • GT3 RS oil pump
  • EVOMS Clubsport GT35 turbo system w/ external wastegates
  • EVOMS Clubsport intercoolers
I will post the component photos, engine assembly process and more details here shortly. Here are a few to start.

You guys do some incredible work!! Thumbs way up! I had a question, though. I'm no machinist, but those ports look a little rough. I know it's CNC'd, but is that just an illusion, or are they smoothed out?

There are a bunch of different theories about this. Some say that polishing is better. We actually combine this "rifling" machined surface with a polish finish at the valve seat. The rough cut on the main chambers acts to help a swirling affect and improves air velocity. We then polish the port before the valve seat which helps to smooth the air before the valve. With the shape and size of the ports, this is what produced the best results. http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...lies/smile.gif<!-- google_ad_section_end --> <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

Wow, this car gives me the gooooose-bumps thinking of how hard the pull must be from that kind of power....

Looks good, what will you be doing to the tiptronic transmission for it to handle all that power?

Update Time :D

We have already upgraded the TQ converter. We have found a company that upgrades the valve body, clutches, and pump to hold the power and high rev's. The customer is deciding on which route we will go. I will update the progress with some photos later.

Since when are GT35's "big"? You're talking to the experts here. I'm sure they know what they are doing.

Thank you. I would like to finish it as well. We have not had the time to dedicate to it with the other engine builds. After we complete this 900 HP tip, John will get the 4.0L finished :D
