FINALLY ACTUALLY BOUGHT THE TURBO! in my driveway

for those of you who have seen my threads regarding the "should i buy this car?" threads, i finally got a car lol

10,000 miles, 2007
Manual, axle lock, sports chrono, sport seats, slate grey on natural leather(bunch of othere small options)

So i took delivery of the car about 8 hours ago, some of the best 8 hours of my life.

Funny fact: I had only driven stick 2 times prior to purchasing this car, most recent one was 9 months ago

So far: past 8 hours i have 5 stalls(from getting a bit nervous),a couple occasions of revving up to high to get off the line, and 3 accidental trying to shift but accidentally going to neutral. (this happens most when accelerating aggressively out of first, one must SHOVE the shifter into 2nd otherwise it will go to neutral....it also happened once going from 2nd to 3rd)

Anyway, other than that i am driving the car perfectly fine!
Basically learning stick on a porsche turbo, and surprisingly it has gone very well.

I am still struggling on my downshifts, takes too long. i need to learn to rev match! lol

The car is honestly incredible, once the turbos spool warpspeed is engaged.

The handling is absolutely INCREDIBLE!

Cons: porsche 997tt doesnt know the definition of cons.

Jokes aside, there are no automatic lights! what gives porsche?

I am in utter love, i just want to drive forever to be honest. I have never had such lust for a car, in my entire life.

This past month of car shopping has paid off.

the car is amazing

By the way,
do you think i am seriously damaging the clutch with the things i said to have done above?
And, when you turn off the car....Put it in gear first then turn it off, or turn it off then put it in gear?

Thanks

Sounds awesome. Enjoy the car. I wouldn't worry. I stall all the time backing in to my garage on a steep driveway. The flat 6 is an easy engine to stall. I don't like burning the clutch so I end up stalling sometimes.

Congrats and big thumbs up on getting a manual TT! I don't think that your car is damaged by what you've done but learn from it. It certainly can become an issue if it keeps happening. IMO, dont think that it matters much if you put the car in gear before you turn off the motor or afterwards.

Happy motoring!

I suggest when shifting that you use your finger tips on the shift **** and do a smooth 2 part shift, meaning clutch in, shift easily to neutral, very slight pause, then on to the next gear, clutch out. It can be done quickly but must be done smoothly. 1st to 2nd, and 2nd to 3rd are the most critical. After that the gear ratios become closer together so easier to engage. The Porsche transmission requires finesse, not muscle. Any shoving and you are going to end up with a $10,000 bill.

If that would be true, a short shifter would be a strict NO NO. I am on my 5th 911 (2 turbos) some for over 140.000 km, never teated the stick like an raw egg, and never had any problems... I guess you mean that would be the save method or do I understand your term "shoving" wrong?
