Goodbye 2007, hello 2010
Thanks to the March Madness Porsche event, I am now the proud owner of a 2010 TT Cab PDK, I traded a 2007 TT Coupe 6 speed for it. The 2007 was SlateTT's car, I bought last April. Fantastic car, loved it, but the 2010 is much nicer.
Unfortunately the record setting rains in Massachusetts kept any antics to a minimum, the 90+ minute ride home from Norwell (Rietzl Porsche/Audi) probably averaged 50mph.
Various first impressions:
- Love the new steering wheel with the paddles. Previous car had a multifunction wheel which was as thin as spaghetti. Our Honda Odyssey has a sportier steering wheel. My Golf GTI has a great wheel.
- PCM3 vs PCM2.1 - huge improvement.
--- I had a mObridge which does as well as you can do for iPod integration, but this is many classes above.
--- Bluetooth, also good with mObridge, is far far better.
--- Navigation is much prettier and easier to use (PCM2.1 is 'functional').
--- XM does not cut out as much as the (Porsche) Sirius did.
- PDK is a very impressive gearbox, similar to the DSG on my GTI. Sport and Sport+ modes make a noticeable difference. I'm staying away from the religious battle between manual and auto.
- Illuminated sills are.... nicer than I thought, I expected them to be a bit too bling, but they are subtle.
- Rietzl were great to deal with, nice guys down there.
The car is triple black (regular black paint) with these options:
840 - Sport Wheel with Shift Paddles
XXB - Outer Door-sill Guards SS
XES - Prep for Illum Door Sill Guard
870 - Universal Audio Interface
810 - Floor Mats in Interior Color
686 - XM Radio
640 - Sport Chrono Package Turbo
P01 - Adaptive Sport Seats
619 - Bluetooth Phone Interface
603 - Dynamic Cornering Lights
422 - 19" RS Spyder Whl w/Centr Lock
342 - Heated Front Seats
250 - Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)
220 - Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV)
XSC - Porsche Crest in Headrest
635 - Parking Assist System
... and before anyone asks, no photos yet. It's been pouring in rain.
This weekend will be in the 70s, so the roof will be open and the PilotSport2's will be holdin' on....

Me too. When I first saw them I was ambivalent, but over time they have grown on me... a lot....
I'll post some pics this weekend, we have some nice weather coming and I'll have more time.
