EVOMS 997.2TT PDK 1/4 Mile Testing – First 997.2 to run in the 10's - Pics & Vids
We are in Minnesota delivering a MONSTER GT2 to one of our customers and we brought along our 997.2TT for some "mid west" testing. We always like to bring our development vehicles along for the ride to test them in different climates and with different fuel, etc. We took the car to the MN “Cars and Café” drag event at the Rock Falls Raceway in Eau Claire , Wisconsin. We were not sure if we were going to run the car because we were hyper focused on getting the MONSTER GT2 sorted and that was our top priority.
I was approached by “LuisGT3” who asked if he could run the car for me. Perfect! Luis has spent a considerable amount of time in our other tuned vehicles and this would a good independent test of the car. He hopped in and was off. I went back to the GT2 and forgot about the 997.2. Luis came back after his first pass with a BIG GRIN on his face. He looks at me with disbelief and tells me 10.97 at 129.xx. I told him to keep running it and let’s see if there is any more in it. Luis ran the car again and made an 11.0 @ 130.xx. He was messing with the launch control and getting use to the way this PDK operates. He proceeds to click off 6 back to back 10 second passes and 2 back to back 10.7 passes at 129.xx. It is a huge testiment to the ease of operation and consistancy when someone who has never driven this car can get in and have it perform to its peak potential with ease. Thank you Luis for testing the car and showing us that the long hours of tuning and product development by the entire EVOMS team have paid off :) Here are the specs on the car: EVT.2 650 Performance System EVOMSit SDI3 ECU Calibration EVOMS 65mm Billet VTG Turbochargers EVOMS ClubSport Headers EVOMS / Fabspeed 70mm Sport Exhaust w/ GT2 Style Tips HJS Motorsport 200 Cell Catalysts EVOMS Billet Boost Diverter Valves NOTE: The car came from AZ with a half tank of 91 octane fuel and ran all of these 10 second passes with this same 100% 91 octane. After the event, it was pretty difficult to get Luis out of the car. He asked if he could take it for the rest of the weekend and provide us feedback for the car. I flipped him the keys and today is Monday and I have not heard from Luis. I think that he may propose to drive it back to AZ for me :D We will have to wait until he surfaces to hear what he thinks of the car. Luis, you out there???? Here are some photos. Well done indeed. First 10 second pass at a drag stip I've seen for one of these cars. And the 130mph trap speed is great too!

Congrats!!! Nice to see you ahead of the competition with the PDK already.. Dyno results only go so far.. I like to see REAL WORLD RESULTS.. You cant ask for much more on a simple setup to run 10's.. PDK is going to make for a wicked 1/4 mile car!!!

Anything done to the intake? These are really great runs and show how easy the PDK cars are to drive fast ;-). Also very impressive since it is on 91 octane! I'd love to see it on some East coast 93 octane...and higher octanes as well. I had no idea EVOMS has a kit for it already. Any more details on the kit? Any work done to the transmission or is it fine at these powerlevels?

Wow that's quick... nice work. Is the PDK showing any signs that it might not like the additional power? Or is it all gravy?

the PDK stock is doing around 11-11,1 at 127-128mph... this car has turbo upgrade and is turning at best 10,7 --- 130mph... SMALL DIFFERENCE IMHO... shouldnt the PDK with only ECU and exhaust do a TIME EQUAL/BETTER than this one activated???? sorry confused.... |
