eek, did a little more reading. The OBDII port derives this but does not carry it. There's a lot of angry VW GTI owners that installed this and can only get 3 out of 50 functions . If I were to install I would want a wideband and boost sensor I think.

hmm now that you mention, boost should be on the obd, they probably did not want to include so people would have to buy their sensors, marketing strategy perhaps?

I used my fpr as a source for boost/vac.

It was a tight fit getting to the fpr, even with the intake and y-pipe out, it was a little bit of a struggle.

^^nice. How did you get the lines back to the gauge in the pod? What did you physically do with the chrono clock?

I pulled out the rear Bose subwoofer and the panel that stretches across the bottom of the back window. With that out you can then finally pull out the rest of the carpet/padding that will expose the rest of the rear shelf. There is a grommet/access hole that leads to a location in the engine bay that is directly above the fpr. This hole is nearest the rear glass on the pass side.

As for the factory chrono, I took it out of the housing pod, put a cover over the glass and tucked it inside the dash with it still plugged in to avoid error messages. It took several attempt to fish the boost line through the dash to the floor board but eventually i made it work.

the Aem boost gauge is really good, but i am afraid it has no bar indication only psi... The good thing is that this doesnt use the obd port though...

You are correct, it reads only PSI.
