Meguiar's Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner

I have a few friends who love Meguiar's Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner. Anyone here ever use it on their wheels? Does it work well? Is it safe for the stock 997.1 rims?

Thanks

We use this stuff and it works great! Even on Porsche painted wheels.

Well, just tried the Meguiars and it barely does anything. Maybe 20% better than not using it. So much for that. Might try the Sonax you guys are recommending next time.

Thanks for the tips!

Put on some wax on the rims, makes a huge difference. I've tried several and like Swissvax Autobahn (30% teflon I think) the most. It's developed for the Veyron, as they couldn't clean the wheels after a testrun. So they ended up throwing away loads of sets, crazy!
It's a little jar, but you don't need much and can do several sets with 1 jar.

I don't think any product will truly work as a spray-on wash-off process without some agitation. Try the Sonax, or if you prefer, P21S, but use a brush (http://www.detailedimage.com/DI-Acce.../Full-Size-S1/) in 3-5 minutes after spraying the gel on your cool-to-touch rims to agitate the product and loosen as much brake dust and dirt as possible. Lastly, remember to use a high pressure stream of water to remove the dirt when done.

+1

There are a lot of waxes and nano technology products to keep your rims looking good between washes. Some inexpensive waxes do a great job and the highend Swissvax is always a solid choice:

Here are some nano technology products you can read about:

Hope this helps :)

The P21S gel is what I recommend, I tried the Mcguires product but found it left a film on the wheels and did a mediocre job. The Griots wheel cleaner works pretty well too.

I would not use these products on PCCB's or hot rims.
