How to change regions in Porsche PCM (997.2)

Figured out the language issue.

It seems my PCM is in the wrong REGION. When I program a destination, it starts me out in the middle of the Atlantic. I can't see my car location on the PCM when driving on my local streets.

Figured it out (thats to Google translator).

But the original issue remains...

How do you set region in the PCM. I can't find it in the manual!

Thanks!

Do you have the right nav DVD in the boot? Could be that you have European map not US.

Sorry I can't help, but why the hell are you messing with that stuff?

I didn't know this system used a DVD. This is an '11.

For whatever reason, my car is not being picked up by the satellite.

It is acting like it is in the wrong region.

call your local service rep and see if there's anything you can do yourself, if not, you've got a killer warranty I presume.

PITA> Then again, I have 800 miles on the car and this was the first time I tried the Navigation!~

Guess, there were more fun things going on!

If that really was the first time, and you took delivery at prep, that almost sounds like the prep tech might've overlooked a prep item on the check list.

I agree.

I called my local dealer (I bought this car out of state - no Turbo S allocations in Detroit). However, the tech thought that as soon as you set the proper time was set, that the time zone would be implemented and it should just, plain work.

I'm going to re'name the thread and try again.

It's possible the hard drive containing the map data is bad or more likely the satellite receiver is bad.

All NA cars have all of the NA maps so there really isn't a 'region'. The Atlantic is probably a default start location because it's between NA & Europe (different maps).
