PCM issue

I haven't had my car for long (july) but ever since I had it the PCM has been a problem. It doesn't happen all the time but let's say 2 or 3 times a month either it freezes or the volume is out. I took it to the dealership about 2 months ago to get it fixed because the navigation voice would never work. They told me that they updated the software and that I shouldn't have any problems anymore. The navigation voice has worked fine since then but I still have issues with the PCM (freezing or no sound) from time to time.. The car is CPO until 2012 should I ask for a new PCM unit?

have you been taking it to MMC? If so either give them another shot or take it to Pepe in white plains, its a bit out of the way but they have great techs and people

Yes MMC thats where I bought the car. I could ask them to try to fix it again but I have a feeling it might be a waste of time since it didn't work the first time.. What else can they do other than reboot it again.. If it is covered by the warranty (which it should) I would rather have them order a new unit and be done with it.

Hello,
I have an 2008 997 Turbo Cab with the same problem with the PCM, mine won't do it at the dealer and they told me that they can't do anything until it does it at the dealer. It happens when it in navigation mode also, yours also? Is your dealer offering to change out the PCM?

No they didn't offer to replace it but I didn't ask either as I thought they would be able to fix it the first time around. I'm gona try to find some time next week and bring it in and ask if they can replace it under warranty.

Was it parked in an indoor garage or in the city where a lot of alarm systems are present ? If so .. the high frequency stimuli might disrupt the pcm momentarily . Once you shut the car off and turn it on in a less hectic environment it ought to be fine.

If none of this above applies .. then I don't know .
