DME Conundrum

2008 TT – stock ECU. I regularly check DME readings using Durametric usually before I take the car in for service – I do a before and after. Twice now my “after” readings show an increment of 1 ignition in ranges 1 through 4. I would have thought that with any movement through the rpm band of 6800 to 7900, that any readings would be progressive – more in range 1, less in range 4. How is it possible to get a 1 ignition increment in all 4 ranges especially when there are 3 ignitions per revolution? Thanks.

I suspected that too and sent a message to Durametric tech support 3 months ago - never heard back from them.
