Heated seats?

I'm looking at a 2012 997 manual turbo
I've been hunting for a while .. Finally found
One though I wanted heated and cooled
Seats This car has neither
Can I change out seats and add buttons on
Dash?

I can recall that heating was the only option, cooling was not available yet in the 997 models.

Cheers,

Cheers,
I think vented seats were first available on the 2009 (997.1) Turbo and on the 997.2 (all models)...but not sure what "plumbing" is needed to add - heated less of a problem since its just wiring.

Yes with a manual it is. Drive a PDK and it might change your mind, it did mine.

I don't know from personal experience with the 997, but I do from the 996. Porsche generally builds cars with a wiring harness specific to that car and the options. As a result, it's unlikely that the new heated seats will be "plug and play". Maybe this changed for the 997, but I'd be surprised if you didn't need to modify the wiring to add heated seats.

I would call a dealer for specifics on the fitting and see what you are up against before purchasing.

Regarding another comment about manual vs. PDK...I think the turbo was perfectly engineered to fit with the PDK. I believe the manual is engaging, maybe a different drive experience, but for maximum performance I would choose the PDK every time. Plus, I would go "S" for the extra stuff, e.g. PCCB.

Good luck

Subscribed. Would like to know if it's plug n play on my CPO'd '09 997.1 MT TT. Did not come from the factory with heated or ventilated seats. But if it's already prewired, it's good to know. Especially, if I keep this beauty & decide to add heated & ventilated seats in the future.
