I'm now a proud 997TT Owner!

Well, I'm part of the club! I'm soooo excited.
Its a 2009 White/Black well optioned one owner car with CPO and 10K miles. I picked her up on Monday in Thousand Oaks at Rusnak. I drove her back (with my wife riding shotgun) with my IPOD classic with 100MB of uncompressed files and we played DJ for 4 hours. I stopped for lunch in Santa Barbara. My initial driving impressions: 1) Is everyone serious that the exhaust is too quiet? I'm coming from a 335, and there is plenty of noise for me on this car. 2) Road noise is really increased over the 335 and my 928 3) The shifter is much tighter than the 928's (might be an age thing) 4) I'm not smooth on the clutch yet, 2 years of rust is showing, but no stalls! 5) F*ck this car is fast. 6) Cops notice you, as I was pulled over doing 92mph--CHP card gets me out again. Sigh of relief.:o 7) The PCM 3.0 is ok, but not great. I think IDRIVE is better system. 8) The steering is fantastic 9) I am very happy with the comfort seats. Supportive 10) Seat ventilation is too funny, especially when you turn it on for your wife w/o telling her. "Is it drafty in here"? Being the OCD type, the first thing I did was inspect the car (I had never seen her before in person). I'm still not done! I am the type to check for every nick and scratch and chip etc. This one is odd. There is not a single rock chip on the front bumper, not a single nick on the back bumper. The center caps on the wheels look like crap--easily fixed. Color or black and white?? HMMM. The interior has what I will call two "indentations" in the leather. One on the back seat bottom, and one on the back of the driver's side seat. Both the size of 1/5 of an eraser head. The front lip has the usual rash, but not time to fix that yet. Did I say I was OCD? I can't wait to detail the crap out of this car. The purchasing expereince with Rusnak was very good. I would recommend them without reservation, and I would work with Mark Stratmeyer again without question. I've yet to snap any good pics, but have attached what I have for now. Thanks to all of you for the support, advice, and BTDT that helped me get this done. I've realized a dream. This is a special day.:) |
Welcome to the club!! I wish you many years of ticket free motoring!!!

love the color combo - post more pics!
|
Congrats, Seth. Glad you found a good example. Now change your sig;)
|
Congratulations - great looking car and happy to hear the buying experience was good...certainly better than West Houston, right? BTW, I doubt many people buy the turbo for the PCM - personally, I think iDrive sucks. Have fun - drive safe. Can't remember - front plate? If not did CHP mention it?
|
Oh, no front plate! Love that! No holes. CHP did not mention that.
My wife blurted out "he just got it"...so embarrasing having to apologize and promise to behave. |

Congrats Seth you couldnt have said it any better, "It is a special day". Good luck, enjoy, be safe, and have fun convincing your wife you need to spend thousands on mods that don't change the apperance of the car:) Again congrats, nice pic I love wide white butts.

welcome!! i need to post pics of my new baby soon too lol
|

|

I cant wait for the day I get my Porsche Turbo.. seems like it will be forever
|
Looks great, congrats
- and leave the front plate off. It got me out of a more serious ticket as he only wrote me for front plate infraction, not the speed ;-) - way cheaper than traffic school, etc. |
coming home from hospital after having re constructive surgery done on my finger, but I gotta congratulate u. Beautiful car & enhoy
