Need some help: thoughts on high mileage car
Looking at a 2007 Turbo with 46k miles at a Porsche dealership. Dealer will throw in a 4 yr. 100k additional mileage warranty and I actually know the previous owner, but more worried about resale value.
Car has a $154k sticker with a number of great options like ceramic brakes, adaptive sport seats, limited slip diff. Looks great (white with painted aprons).
It is a 6-speeed, 2-owner car, white with black/grey two-tone interior.
Any thoughts on what this car would be worth a few years from now with 50-60k miles?
I think I can get it with the extended warranty (better than CPO because 4 yrs) for around $75-78k. I know this is a bit high but the combination of the looks, the warranty, and it already has bluetooth/satellite radio prof instal, has me thinking maybe this is not a bad deal.
This would be my second 997 Turbo. Sold an '07 a couple of years ago and regret it every day. Also looking at used X5M's around $70k.
Any thoughts on whether or not this car makes sense would be greatly appreciated!

I would pass on this deal. I know I would not but a turbo with 50-60K no matter what the price is. The milage would scare me away.
BTW, I bought a 08 about 7 month ago blk/blk with 9K miles from the first owner for $77K. I got a gret deal, but think you can find similar.
Good luck

I would think you could get a better deal than $75k. Even with an aftermarket warranty, maybe like $73-71k. I remember Champion was selling 4x,xxx mile car for $75k a few months back, but I don't think it was certified.
That being said, consider paying a little extra if it's got everything you want. I found one that literally had all the options I wanted (low miles, aerokit, deviated stitching, PCCB, adapt. sport seats, lock rear diff, etc.) and felt comfortable paying a bit more.
Hkalavii, you got an amazing deal!!
I just bought my 08 Turbo with 9k miles and paid WAY more that $77k. That is a serious outlier.....

If you regretted selling the last one why would you sell this one?
I think the question is, what would the car sell for w/o the warranty and how much does the warranty cost. I was looking at a certified Cobalt Blue 07, 34k miles out in Oregon (still might be for sale). They were asking ~$80k but said they would come down to $77k. That's only a 2 year warranty but it's from Porsche.
I think if the car itself would sell for around $72-74k then your price estimate might be good. From all the reading I've been doing leading up to me buying one this past Friday it just seems like if you don't get the car that has all the right things for you how long with another one take to show up? And are you willing to wait vs. pay a little more now?
White was my other color I was looking for. I say go for it.

Thanks for the replies! Good food for thought.
While poking around another Porsche dealer I came across a 2010 Panamera Turbo with 3k miles, certified, $157k sticker, that I could get for $110k or less. Now I am even more confused as to what to do!

I just bought a 07' TT 41k miles, GT silver on black...all options with great after market warranty as well 4 yrs 100k miles. As a testament to the turbo I drove 4 others same year range but with less miles, 7k, 14k, 27k, 49k miles on each. The best feeling and driving of the lot were the one I bought and the 49k mile one. For some reason the higher mile cars pulled harder and still felt just as solid. I say go for it, resale you could count on 5-8k drop from what you bought it. I got mine for 69k from the original owner.
Save $ now and get a little less $ later or vise versa. Well maintained turbos should all run strong. So, then it comes down to the options, condition and of course extended warranty. If the interior and exterior of a >45k mileage turbo is in the same shape as one with <20k - great. For me, that's where I see the real value in lower mileage cars, less paint flaws and less wear on the leather. Of course you've got the standard items that come through normal manufacturers maintaince at the higher mileage too - clutch, brakes, belts, plugs, filters and fluids.
