2012 997.2 TT Radio doesn't work??

I bought a NEW 2012 TT 3 months ago and now there is NO sound from the radio. The display is lit, but I can't switch between tuner, Disc, or USB. Most radio functions are frozen.

This morning I called to cancel my 3 month trial XM radio so they wouldn't bill me. Could this have messed the radio?

This happened while driving. So I pulled over and turned off the car. After 10 minutes, I restarted the car and then the ipod loaded up, I was relieved. The song played for 1 minute then the track time froze and no sound.

The car has only 600 miles on it.
- Should this be happening?...
- Is there a remedy?...
- Is the dealer going to give me a hassle?...

HELP

I would simply call the dealer. My guess is a software refash or something of the sort.

Mike.

Thank you, Mike. It happened again this morning - ipod was playing then after 1 hour, the sound was cut and the display froze. The remainder of the trip was with no radio, disc, or ipod! This is crazy for a brand new vehicle. I don't know if this is common with new Porsches?

I had no problems with either or my 997.2's or my new 991, so I assume its just a fluke with your car.

I would call the dealer, set an appointment, drive there with the windows down and listen to the boost the whole way there... :)

I'm sure it will be no big deal to fix. I would guess in worst case you need a new head unit... Don't sweat it.

Mike

Ok Mike, thanks. I'll call the dealer For an appointment. I hope it will be a quick fix.

Not normal. I'd definitely take it to the dealer.

I went to the dealer, they couldn't do anything with the radio. So they ordered a new radio module from Germany. The radio, ipod, XM were all working fine for the first 2 months, so I am at a loss to why I lost function and sound. What are the chances of this happening again?
On route to the dealership last week, at the traffic light, I noticed a 3 second interval "click---clock" sound from the rear. They didn't have time to diagnose it fully, but said that it was a relay that's firing more than it should. Once the radio is fixed, I have to look into this too. Any ideas what this repeating 3s click might be?...
What sux is that I haven't even posted photos of my new TT, and I am already having issuse with the vehicle...
