997TT MK.1 PCM 3 conversion DONE :)
#636
I have already retrofitted the pcm 3 into my 997 with Bose.
So fare the system work but the Bose has a very low bass volume!
In addition the sound characteristics is very low.
I think that the reason therefore is that the used Bose amplifier comes not from a 997 coupe (don't know the origin)
Is there a possibility to adapt the amplifier?
Don't found some clear coding in PIWIS

Maybe you want something different from bose that can't be done? Try to listen to it in other car.
For those who don't get much from bose there is two options
First is to replace speakers to mix of focal burmester etc, there's a separate topic here
Another option is to replace amp with audison bit dmi and almost any amp and speakers you like.

After 3 month my pcm3 doesnt work.
Yesterday i drove the car, but the pcm didnt start.
After 45min i could turn it on and i could hear music, but i had to information in the dash.
After turning off the ignition the pcm remained on - and it displays the message that without engine running i could only use it a few minutes (But the engine was running)
I turned it off and after getting back to the car 30min later i tried to turn it on again, but it didnt worked.
After 40min whilst driving i could turn it on, but after 2min it restarted.
Then i could hear music until i put it off. It still doesnt turn off when putting ignition off.
Any idea what i can do?
The pcm3 is not available in piwis.
In the dash i have some error codes:

Hello,
Once again I'd like to ask About the Bose coding…
According Porsche PET I have to check the coding of the amplifer.
At PIWIS I found some coding posibilities.
So what are the correct values for a 997 Coupe ?

I'm only replacing the air control unit and the lower switch assembly.
It's unclear what work needs to take place to get the 997.1 wiring harness connected to the new switch (that sits below the air con unit).
Also did you guys need to change the internal "cage" that holds all the components?
Essentially what happened to me is my mechanic pulled it all apart and mentioned that the 997.1 internal cage has different mounting points for the 997.2 air con unit and switch assembly. He also mentioned that the pins don't match for the switch assembly - which is essentially what you guys show.
1) So my question is, can you provide more detail on how you connect the 997.1 wiring to the 997.2 switch assembly, given they have different pins.
Are you saying that pim 1 goes to pin 1, 2 goes to 2, etc. this will change given different locations of the numbers?
If this is correct, will one need to solder? Does any one have any photos of this operation?
2) Did you replace the metal interior "cage" to mount the new assembly?

Fig 1 shows the 997.2 connector:
Fig 2 shows the 997.1 connector
Fig 2 green background shows where the pins are in the connector.
Fig 3 shows the position of the retrofitted 9971 plug into the 997.2 connector
Fig 3 yellow background shows the new location of the pins using the old (shorter) plug.
Is that correct???
