I actually had a tune, changed to stock to try out some stuff.

I had a Softronic tune but my Boost didn't go above 17 PSI either. Boost was the same all the time.

Ok, that doesn't seem right....have the chronometer on the dash and the "Sport" button.

Ok, it seems we are still not getting anywhere.
Please state the year of your 997TT and if your gauge goes 0-14 or 0-18.

I suspect that the 2006, 2007 997TT's putting out 480 HP and have a 0-14psi boost gauge, have different boost than 2008+ 997TT's putting out 500HP and 0-18 Boost Gauge.

This really should be resolved once and for all with facts to keep us poor 2007 owners from thinking we have a boost leak, and the subsequent costs.
The Dealer says 10-11PSI max (no boost, 12-14 with) is normal on the 2007 and not 14.

Anyone with a 2007 wish to confirm?

Although I have never made a full boost 4th gear pull but in 3rd gear I barely go pass the mid point on the boost guage (8-9) before hitting the red line, does that sound right?

How do I check whether the car makes a full boost or not? Do I need to make a 4th gear pull?

No need to laugh, but how does the sport mode/sport chrono works? hilarious Car in question is a 997.1 TT

Thanks

Please,,,,what year 997 do you have?? We need to be consistent here, otherwise someone will tell us normal is 14. I don't think so.

sorry you are struggling with this issue.

my car is a 2007 997.1 Turbo.

My car has the sports chrono option and the boost gauge shows a range from 0-18.

In sports mode, on full acceleration, under full load, I have always achieve 17+ (up arrow) on the boost gauge. This includes both gauges, the one that shows the range from 0-18 as well as the single display gauge

I hope this helps

It sounds like you have the chrono "wart" on the dash and the sports button on the console correct? if so it may be a simple software issue that the dealer can straighten out for you

There is no 06 turbo and AFAIK, my 08 has the same HP output as your 07 - 480 hp - no change between model years.

Ok, maybe I'll need to check this out. Car been in storage for the winter since November...perhaps my brain is deteriorating not having the G forces it's used to!

The non sport display would read up to 14psi even if it was 16 and the same for the sport as it will only display up to 17 if it was actual 20....

Sport will increase .2 bar for 10 seconds in stock mode.

I should also note that the DFI turbos are different than the series 1 cars and they should not be compared as the same.

It is a 997.1 TT. ANyway, can a dealer verify the boost (whether the car is boosting normally & sport mode) by their software?

Thanks

Some of the posters have DFI and others Non DFI. Do you want a Dealer or expert in the field?

Just plug in a Durametric cable and read the boost. Not that tough. :)
