I did the trim option, since it was also pretty trivial. I tied a few knots into the wire along the way to ensure the wire stays in without sliding out.

If I remember right, I think I tapped in to the tiptronics slot which was empty, for me, since i have 6mt. I don't remember exactly what they were, but the few next to that slot were also potential candidates.
