My dension still will not stream music anymore. Going to upgrade the firmware when I have a chance.

Sooo.. I installed my dension last year and got everything working, the only thing not working is the ability to use the buttons for the phone on the PCM. For music it works as it should do (being able to change song etc.) but I can't get the adress book on the screen and I cant answer/hang up with the buttons.
Do I need to loop the phone module out of the car to get this working? I read somewhere that you need to do that to get it working properly? Or can you disable the phone module with Piwis?

If I need to loop out the phone module, as I have understood it's located under the passenger seat? So I need to take that out before being able to do this?

Did you try to push the reset button. I find that helps with some of the gremlins. Make sure after the reset you shut off the car and left it sit for a few minutes.

Dension

I've had one of these units in my 2008 TT for 9 years. Had tons of problems when it was first installed which required a 1.5 hr. drive back to the installer. At some point he told me that when the car starts up, it runs checks various systems. When it checks the stereo, it measures how much power the stereo is pulling. If there's an ipod connected, the stereo is pulling more power. The car doesn't recognize the stereo and throws a code. (true of false I don't know) I started to disconnect the ipod on start up and disconnect it prior to turning the car off. Haven't had a problem in >5 years.

I've had a new Dension 500BT II unit waiting to be installed since December...been swamped with work but this weekend she's going in. It's a brand new unit and I would like to install it in the trunk but I've read on some older posts of people having connection issues with BT if the unit is in the trunk. Anyone have any current feedback now that the firmware has been updated to a more stable version?

Huge thanks in advance!
Donny

Easily fits behind the PCM unit, and is the best location relative to reception and wiring, etc..

Good luck with install.

DC,
Did you pull the PCM to get it there? No big deal I suppose. What about the length of Dension fiber runs to CD Changer etc in the trunk?

Thank man!!

Yes, I pulled it out...I think you will need to anyway to get your MOST cables straight. On my install, I did not see a need to have the CD changer any longer so I looped it out (terminated it) . If you need help, images, etc. on the PCM let me know, I think I may still have some.

Good luck...

New Dension SBT install

I just had my local high end car stereo place install my unit and so far so good. It connects via Bluetooth, I phone 6, before I can do anything else and starts playing where I left off, usually my playlists or Pandora. I haven’t spent a lot of time with the phone yet. The connection seems to work well enough. I’m hoping the microphone works well. I’m not sure if it has noise cancellation or not. Probably NOT. Now I’ll get to see how it works in the long run.
